NOI is proud to announce the development of a new program: Human Performance and Sports Medicine (HPSMP). HPSMP was created to support our local communities through physical fitness management and education around the treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise. Since it's conception in fall of 2015, we have partnered with several local sports organizations, including: Beach City Sports, USTA: Southern California, Open Gym Premier, Strikers FC, Matt Leinart Flag Football, and Pacifica Christian High School.
We provide Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) coverage for games during their respective seasons and a direct connection to our physicians. The collaboration focuses on educating athletes, physical fitness management, concussion education and testing, assessing injury onsite, and education around the treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise.
As the largest orthopedic and musculoskeletal group in coastal Orange County, we felt it was important to get out in the community and offer support to our local athletes. After all, for a long time our motto has been motion is life, so it is important we live by that and provide a continuum of care ranging from conservative treatment to surgical intervention in every area of orthopedics, especially to those who are prone to injury.
We also launched our Concussion Program, which allows everyone to participate in concussion baseline testing with our physicians and certified athletic trainers. We aid in a safe return to play and educate athletes on return to play protocol. To learn more about the program, click here. There will be numerous educational opportunities and workshops, for not only these organizations we've partnered with, but for parents, players, and coaches as well, to learn more about player safety, injury prevention, and injury and recovery relating to the exercise and sports medicine world.
