Biography

Dr. Matthew Siljander was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan and worked in the field as an engineer before he earned his medical degree at Chicago Medical School. He then completed his residency training at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Royal Oak, Michigan. After residency, Dr. Siljander continued his training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota with a fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery.

Dr. Siljander specializes in joint replacement and adult reconstructive surgery and has been very active in research advancing the field of orthopedics. He has authored numerous scientific publications, multiple book chapters, and frequently presented his work at regional and national meetings. While in medical school, he helped design and ultimately patent a medical device at Stanford University.

Dr. Siljander lives in Irvine with his wife and children, and enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports and is an avid fan of University of Michigan football.
