Biography
Ravnyssa Verma is a highly skilled and compassionate Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) in the pain management department at Newport Orthopedic Institute. She specializes in providing evidence-based, patient-centered care across diverse populations, with a focus on preventive care, chronic disease management, and health promotion.
Ravnyssa graduated Summa Cum Laude from Johns Hopkins University in 2024, where she obtained her doctorate. She received her undergraduate education from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Nursing in 2011, when she became a Registered Nurse.
While obtaining her doctoral degree at Johns Hopkins University, Ravnyssa spent most of her clinical training at City of Hope working in pain and symptom management. She blends evidence-based medical practices with the principles of functional medicine, which focuses on treating the root causes of illness rather than just alleviating symptoms.
In addition to her clinical work, Ravnyssa is a respected member of professional nursing organizations, including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, which is by invitation-only for those who have excelled amongst their peers. Ravnyssa was born and raised in Southern California and lives in Orange County with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and expanding her daughters’ horizons through outdoor activities, music, art, dance, and theater. She is an avid exercise enthusiast and does yoga, pilates, weight-training, and cycling weekly.
